Congratulations to GreenStreet Cafe! Their Pride of Barbados cocktail won the first Royal Poinciana Cocktail Crawl competition. The tropical cocktail was made with Mount Gay rum, dragonfruit puree, and pomegranate and cinnamon syrup. It was voted the top drink in the Coconut Grove competition, a new addition to the 79th Annual Royal Poinciana Fiesta, Miami's oldest continuously running festival, celebrating the blazing red, orange and golden Delonix regia trees in bloom in June. Voters used the ChallengeStar app to cast their ballots for their top cocktail. Other contestants were Ariete, Glass & Vine, Jaguar, Lulu in the Grove, Peacock Garden Cafe and Taurus Beer and Whiskey House. Bianco Natural and Organic Gelato also participated, creating the special Mother Earth Gelato, a special flavor in honor of the Royal Poinciana.

Special thanks to all participants, the Coconut Grove BID, Pat Mackin Gelber and Harold Gelber, and the Tropical Flowering Tree Society and Challenge Star for supporting this fun new addition to the summer event schedule. Look for a special Cocktail Crawl at next year's Royal Poinciana Fiesta for its festive 80th anniversary.
